My earliest memory comes from the 10 month of my life- that of a spinning mobile hanging from the ceiling. I only perceived things with my eyes. I don't recall being aware of my own body. My eyes made the world around me.

I am still constant observer, although older, with a greater understanding of the world. As an artist, I sometimes feel pressure to be creative coupled with a sense of responsibility that comes from being a member of this planet. From my spinning mobile days to the present, I have not stopped my quest to understand universal issues that I find undefined by world theories. My art is a visual record of this processing.

I believe that art develops as a result of the mutual communication between the artist and the world. My work varies- sometimes empty, sometimes full of emotions, at time sweet and at times rebellious depending on my perception and inspiration of the moment.

I read an article that quoted "If the world were a village of 100 people, 33 would be Christians, 19 believers in Islam, 13 would be Hindu, and 6 would follow Buddhist teaching. 5 would believe that there are spirits in the trees and rocks and in all of nature." I would consider myself to be a part of the smallest group because I feel as if I'm always in conversation with nature.

In respect to my beloved parents who encouraged and supported my studies, I track my educational career. I received a BFA from Hong-Ik University, Seoul, Korea and received an MFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York. I currently reside in New York.
